There are countless shades available. Therefore, picking out paint colors for the living room is usually not a hard task. Colors play a major role in shaping up a character of a room. You can not randomly throw colors on the floor and the walls because wrong colors can end up with a disaster. Take your time to understand the essential meaning of every color. Believe it or not, every color has a typical meaning. It affects our sense of sight differently. Did you ever feel the tension while staying in a room fully painted in red? That made sense because red in psychology symbolizes anger and passion. Sure, there is nothing wrong about feeling passionate, but there are times when we do not need to provoke this feeling.
The problem is when a room is painted with a red color scheme, it will not let your mind rest and feel calm. It must feel so tense all the time no matter what. All colors are appealing. Certain colors do feel too strong, but they are not worse in comparison to the others. Without strong colors, calm and cold colors would fell lifeless. Just like the theory of Yin and Yang, all these colors complement each other well. Before you go further, understand the basic 60-30-10 rule. Feel unfamiliar with that? We’ll explain it to you then.
60 of the order refers to a percentage of a dominant color. Let’s say you want to focus on blue, then this color should be given more proportions. 30 refers to the percentage of a secondary color. Blue looks nice by itself. It doesn’t need to be accompanied by another color. However, using a monochromatic color for a room will create saturation. It must be exhausting to see blue all the time even though this color is by no means bad. Yellow matches blue perfectly. Another bright color can also replace yellow. Meanwhile, 10 refers to the percentage of an accent color.
